It isn’t hard to offend people in the Church. ... We have come so far from reflecting the rebel Jesus in our art and cultural engagement that we do not recognize Him when He surfaces.

The more I strive to be a "good Christian"—more prayerful, patient, giving, sacrificial, whatever—the more I find myself anxious, irritated, guilty, resentful, and self-righteous. When I simply accept that I'm a sinner, really, I find that I pray more, am more patient, more giving, more humble, and more loving.

This is where my ego ends, This is where freedom begins, Here's where I jump, In your arms.

If we form Jesus to look like us and to be who we want Him to be, then even when we gather together and sing our praises and lift our hands, the reality is that we are not worshiping the Jesus of the Bible, we are worshiping and sing to ourselves.

Churches, when older men stop investing in younger men, younger men stop caring.

Within the human heart "things" have taken over. Men have now by nature no peace within their hearts, for God is crowned there no longer, but there in the moral dusk stubborn and aggressive usurpers fight among themselves for first place on the throne.
