Both Sides of the Cross

There is no good enough, from within us, to make us right,

only the wrong coming out of this evil heart we fight.

This is true on both sides of the cross.

There are two sides of the cross, even in this life,

a heart at peace or one full of strife.

Hope fails this rock hard heart whenever it relies on itself solely,

A broken heart feels the grace and mercy of God wholly.

This is true on both sides of the cross.

There are two sides of the cross, in who do we trust,

ourselves or Him, decide, this we must.

Peace disturbed by uninspired action, for no reason, just to do~

The mistake is thinking we must act as if we have to.

This is true on both sides of the cross.

There are two sides of the cross, in which we live,

doing as we will or as He will give.

We grip too tightly to what our hearts hold most precious, dear,

not out of trust or hope, but instead out of fear.

This is true on both sides of the cross.

There are two sides of the cross, true for everyone,

living our lives with or without the Son.

Jesus is Christ the Lord, come to redeem us, as we are torn apart,

He suffers our sins upon Himself, his heart.

This is true on both sides of the cross.

There are two sides of the cross, even in eternity,

some will live with Him, others without forever be.
